[Summarised from Ta’leemul Haq (Revised 2015 Edition) by Madrassah Da’watul Haq]
… Continuation of last week’s Friday post
Nabi (صلى الله عليه و سلم) entered Madinah Munawwarah 13 years after Nubuwwat on Friday, 12 Rabi-ul-Awwal, at the age of 53. Abu Ayyub Ansaari (رضى الله عنه) was given the fortune of hosting our Rasool (صلى الله عليه و سلم) for 1 month.
After settling into Madinah Munawwarah, the building of Musjidun Nabawi began. Qiblah was, at this time, facing Musjidul Aqsa. Adjoining the musjid, 2 rooms were built for Nabi (صلى الله عليه و سلم) and family. A treaty was made with the Jews of Madinah Munawwarah, with both parties agreeing to live in peace and to jointly defend Madinah Munawwarah is need be. The Munafiqoon first accepted Islam for show only and thereon plotted with the Jews against Islam. The agreement of Muaakhaat (brotherhood) between the Muhaajir and Ansaar was established.
When Nabi (صلى الله عليه و سلم) was 54, Qiblah changed towards Makkah Mukarramah. Saum and Zakaat were made compulsory. Azaan was introduced. The Battle of Badr was fought during Ramadhaan.
The Battle of Uhud was fought when Nabi (صلى الله عليه و سلم) was 55. Nabi (صلى الله عليه و سلم)’s blessed face was pierced and 2 teeth were shattered. Hamzah (رضى الله عنه), Nabi (صلى الله عليه و سلم)’s uncle, passed away.
Nabi (صلى الله عليه و سلم) was 56 when the Jews broke the treaty.
The Battle of Khandaq/Ahzaab was fought when Nabi (صلى الله عليه و سلم) was 57.
At the age of 58, Nabi (صلى الله عليه و سلم) set out to perform Umrah with a group of 1400 Sahaabah (رضى الله عنهم). The Muslims were refused entry into Makkah Mukarramah and camped at Hudaybiyah, whereupon the pledge Bay-atur-Ridwaan was taken. The treaty of Hudaybiyah was also signed. This included that the Muslims would return to Madinah Munawwarah immediately by return the following year for 3 days to perform Umrah.
Written invitations to Islam were sent out when Nabi (صلى الله عليه و سلم) was 59. The Jews fortresses at Khaybar were conquered leading to a peace treaty being signed. Nabi (صلى الله عليه و سلم) performed Umrah with 1400 Sahaabah (رضى الله عنهم) as previously agreed upon.
When Nabi (صلى الله عليه و سلم) was 60, the Conquest of Makkah Mukarramah occurred. In the same year, the Battle of Hunayn was fought.
Nabi (صلى الله عليه و سلم) was 61 when the Campaign of Tabook took place. Abu Bakr (رضى الله عنه) was appointed Ameer over 300 Muslims for the journey of Haj.
At the age of 62, Nabi (صلى الله عليه و سلم) accompanied 114 000 Sahaabah (رضى الله عنهم) for Hajj.
In Muharram of the 11th year Hijri, when Nabi (صلى الله عليه و سلم) was 63, Rasoolullah (صلى الله عليه و سلم) fell ill with a fever which worsened as the days passed. On 12 Rabi-ul-Awwal, Nabi (صلى الله عليه و سلم) left this Dunya to meet our Allah.
انا لله و انا اليه راجعون
May Allah grant us true love for our Nabi (صلى الله عليه و سلم), true understanding to appreciate his sacrifices, and true sincerity in following his way of life. Ameen!
Don’t forget to recite as much Durood as you can!
